Armenian and Georgian golfers for the first time will compete for the Caucasus Cup!!!

             Armenian and Georgian golfers for the first time will compete for the Caucasus Cup. The competition will be held in Georgia on May 23-24, said to the agency “Novosti-Armenia” the secretary general and head coach of the National Golf Association of Armenia Karen Hovhannisyan. The organizers of the Caucasus Cup are the National Golf Association of Armenia, “Ararat Valley Country Club” and the Ambasadori Golf Club in Kachreti, Georgian.

              This is a team competition, where each team will be completed from 8 players. The format of the game was adopted from a Ryder CUP, in which US team plays against Europe team. We made a Caucasus Cup (Cup of the Caucasus), “- said Hovhannisyan. The winner will receive the Cup, which will be delivered to Georgia from Armenia. It is a transition cup, and each year will remain in the winning team.

                This is a new project aimed to development of golf in the region. By the way, a golf club in Georgia was opened only last year , but in Armenia golf was introduced since 2005 and this year we have 10 years “, – said the head coach of the Armenian team , who personally take part in the game as a team captain.
